Running with a sensitive lower back (l4-l5 or l5-S1 disc area) can be miserable.

    OK, should I or should I not do this, criticizing a good video?.... We're all different and the perception of what's humorous will vary between people. I don't like when you show that "dude" doing all the wrong movements, at all. Not even for a second or two, and you edited so this part was quite long while you were doing the voiceover. Imho it's absolutely unnecessary and it would be much better to show wrong movement but with a serious approach, just show it and then directly give an example of how it really should be done. I'm a physio and I hear you're knowledgeable and you also have a great camera presence, so not that I'm only nagging, just sayin' 🙂 The tip about starting the workout with building stiffness in the core is great, specially when we're on a rehab programme and need to go slowly forward.

    The shoulder press on one knee looks good. But in one view you're pressing one arm on the side with bent knee back and on the floor, the other with pressing arm over bent knee in front of you. Which one is preferable? Thank you.

    Why i feel more of a relief whilst stretching on that exact direction you are trying to avoid? I have a l5 s1 destroyed disc.

    I'm not at this stage yet I have stiffness and tightness and burning down my spine from 2 herniations and two bulging discs went to 12 weeks of physical therapy didn't help this has been 5 months now

    I've been diagnosed with spinal stenosis and facet joint issues. I'm having the 1st part of the RFA procedure Monday. No leg pain with this. Center/lower back has been an issue for many years, more recently there's pain on my far left side just below the belt line. I don't know if this procedure will address that or not but we're starting with the lower back. I want to take the next year to work on my back and get into shape again (I'm 65). Right now I'm not able to walk a block without a lot of pain and I've just fallen apart in the last year or so. Did PT last year to no avail because I think everybody automatically assumes sciatica is the issue but again, no leg pain from this (but leg pain due to a knee replacement 3 years ago). I see tons of videos saying do this, then the next one says no, do that. What would be a simple routine for working on facet joint issues that might help heal it rather than just wait a year for the next nerve burning?

    I just got released full duty after a spinal fusion, I’m trying to get back into running and Muay Thai. Still kind of feel some discomfort doing it, but I’m trying to go slow at the moment. I’m about seven months post op at the moment.

      Dude I'm in a similar situation! I train and compete muay Thai and of course it involves running and I haven't been able to return in like a year 😭 it's killing me. I haven't gotten a fusion

    I do this with a yoga ball. I lay on it on my stomack first to relieve pressure and decompress, then once i come off it i do this several times while rolling the ball back and forth to warm my shoulders up. Probably looks like im humping it from a distance.

    Something I've used successfully with back pain for the shoulder press is lying flat on the floor with resistance bands around your feet. Pressing them all the way up over your head. The floor braces your back and allows you to do it much more pain free than trying to use a barbell.

    It is opposite for me .. heel shoe has some foam or whatever it feels better than flat shoe which doesn't have any soft place

    I have c6-7 bulging disc and spinal stenosis 35yrs Shoulder blades are a problem. I have had torn labrums (Shoulders) since 25yrs I am worried about these workouts.     What about the position where the physical Therapist puts you on their table on your stomach and lifts the backrest so that you’re in back extension, but relaxing? I found out yesterday that I also have spondylolisthesis on top of a L5 S1 disc bulge. But they are having me do that position on their table and do press ups . It does make me feel better. But now I worry that it will mess with the spondylolisthesis.
